Since I was going to obsess over something, I decided to give my brain jaws something hard to chew on. It choked.

… my arm hurts maybe 10% more than the rest.

Siri Wattana market.

Third time back? Always nice to know that there are still new local places to discover in Chiangmai.

Ten years later, I learn the name of this Russian poet: Anna Akhmatova.

And just for fun, here’s the poem in the original Russian.

I compared four drafting systems:
The Bunka Style Missy Block: Something between voodoo and magic because it only requires two measurements: centre back and bust. It gives a loose-fitting boxy bodice that works very well on my body.

Metric Pattern Cutting for Women’s Wear by Winifred Aldrich: Slightly hard to follow, as it the instructions end with just one large shoulder dart. I didn’t sew up this bodice.

Suzy Furrer’s system which is extremely well-reviewed on YouTube. I bought her book during Covid. Unfortunately, I had to abandon this draft as it was too complicated for me.

Finally, something from Xian Ping, which seems to be a hybrid of the Japanese and French systems, which gave me the most fitted block so far. I made two versions of this.

Bingeing. Too bad that vocal fry makes Daniel sound like he is stoned.
